In theory, the people rule in a democratic republic. In practice, who has time? Business Intelligence software lets managers have reports that are timely, relevant, and can be consumed in very little time. Citizens empowered by the same technology could make democratic oversight a reality.

This is a project of several pieces. First of all, there needs to be a census of governments to start things off. Fortunately, the US Census conducts one every 5 years. They are currently compiling the results of their most recent, done in 2012, for fall 2013 release.

A contact method has to be made for each government, address, phone, fax, email, website. This is the stage that the project is on at present.

In future a marketplace for reports will be created. Curators will be sought and found for each government, working with them to get the data items needed for each report in the marketplace.
